Your "Help A Coach Out" Request

Coach.me operates as a giant referral network. More than 90% of clients were referred by someone else. We (the Coach.me company) are the biggest source of referrals. But your peers in the community also refer lots of clients.

The "Help A Coach Out" Request is an email that follows the WISH framework that you send to us or your fellow coaches. The email is written in a way that we could simply forward it to a friend who we want to refer to you.

I want to make this as easy for you as possible. Below is an actual sample that you can use. All you need to do is plug in your What for Whom and WISH elements.

I’ve italicized and marked the places that you’ll replace. Think of it like a Madlibs.

Just to fully demonstrate this, I pulled a version of this post for George Halachev from Marketing Bootcamp #1. Here was his starting point:

  • What for whom: Turn people into early risers so that they can fit more into their day.
  • What: Wake Up Early
  • Inspirational Fantasy: Getting more done, becoming a more productive person, being a person with a disciplined morning routine.
  • Social proof: List some testimonials or tell one story.

Below is his HACO post.

Example HACO Request

I have a few spots open in my Wake Up Early [What] program. Do you know anyone who is a good fit?
My coaching specialty is turning people into early risers so that they can fit more into their day. [What for Whom]
If you use the right technique you can easily learn to wake up early, and create a productive morning routine. A routine that will improve your health, give you free time for yourself, and an opportunity to get a ton done before everybody else is still asleep. [Inspiration]
This is for busy people who don't have time for everything they want to do, and what to use their mornings to exercise, meditate, eat a healthy breakfast, or get their most important tasks done. [Identity]
In my coaching practice, I’ve worked with more than 800 people to improve their sleep, create a great bedtime/morning routine, and have a productive start to the day. My favorite success story is with my client Mike, who started with the simple goal to wake up at 5 AM. Waking up that early gave Mike 2 hours to work on his healthy habits before he had to go to work. That gave him the opportunity to exercise in the morning, eat a healthy breakfast, read, and pray/meditate—all that before his colleagues and friends were sleeping.
In just, 6 months Mike lost 18 pounds, caught up on work that he had been putting off for 6 years, and created plenty of time to enjoy his hobbies and spend time with his family. [Social Proof]
How the coaching works is that we set the specific goals that you want to achieve and the time frame. Then we start with simple daily challenges that I hold you accountable for. We go through any problems and roadblocks that you might have and tackle them together, so we can really make the change and not just read or talk about it. [How]
So if you know anyone interested in becoming an early riser [What], I'd love to hear from them. Here's a link to me:  https://www.coach.me/george/1113?ref=DbvXq

How to forward or share

The above email from George is meant to be forwardable or postable on Facebook without much work on your part.

Here's an example email:

"Hi, I remember you talking about wanting to be a morning person. My friend George just reached out with a possible solution. He's a really fantastic coach who makes waking up early his specialty. As you know, I think coaching is 1000x more effective than going alone or trying to simply read a book. He'll be able to provide both accountability and expertise in ways that make the goal so much easier to achieve. Details on George below."

Or slightly edited for Facebook:

"A lot of people have asked me how to become a morning person.

Just make sure you get your referral code added to the link with George. That way you'll get credit (and maybe he'll start looking for clients for you too).
